Motivation of the Book

The book’s core strength lies in its ability to educate children about nutrition in a playful way. To help put this into practice, the appendix contains recipes for the dishes mentioned in the story. In addition, children can use the appendix to deepen their knowledge and learn about micro- and macronutrients (such as bitter compounds). The book encourages the practical Application of this knowledge. Children learn about the connection between food and its effects on the body. They understand the importance of ensuring their diet is varied. These insights motivate them to try new things for themselves and to recognise independently the positive impact a varied diet can have on their general well-being.

Why should you buy the book?

A look at society – whether on social media or amongst friends and acquaintances – shows that even adults often struggle with their relationship with food. This is precisely where the book comes in: children are introduced to the topic of nutrition at an early age and in a way that is appropriate for their age, and learn to develop a mindful approach to food.

The knowledge is conveyed in an easy-to-understand way with playful elements – such as a journey into the animal world and the challenges included (30-day challenge, rainbow challenge). In this way, food is experienced as a source of energy rather than an enemy.

The book is not only intended for reading aloud or independent reading, but can also be used in other contexts such as cookery classes. The recipes encourage children to put the knowledge they have learnt into practice, are easy to follow and motivate children to get involved themselves.

Author
Arabelle Kamler

Arabelle Kamler has been interested in health and wellbeing since her teenage years. Arabelle is a nutrition, fitness and mental health coach and has also completed additional training as a children’s fitness trainer and gut health consultant. Television channels and other media outlets have been drawing on her expertise for years. A lively and authentic speaker, Arabelle delivers engaging talks that reflect the values she lives by and is passionate about.

Since the birth of her daughter in early 2013, Arabelle has focused her attention on children’s nutrition. She realised that parents often had too little information, or even incorrect information, to pass on to their children.

The food industry doesn’t make things any easier for us either – as if children still had some primal instinct for what constitutes a balanced diet. Inspired by her daughter and her friends and acquaintances, she began offering workshops on these topics in schools and at private gatherings, and received a great deal of appreciation for the positive impact she made.

The entrepreneur, who has an international background, looks back on over 27 years of professional experience. She is delighted to have already helped so many children with her educational children’s book, which combines elements of education and entertainment.
